For our growing Business Intelligence department, we are currently looking to fill a permanent role as (Senior) BI Data Engineer (m/f) PropTech based in our office in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

Deine Aufgaben

Real estate is the world’s largest asset class. With the help of Business Intelligence (BI), we are disrupting the industry by introducing a data-driven, end-to-end software platform for the entire real estate transaction process, e.g. by digitally tracking how consumers behave when buying an apartment - an “offline black-box” until now. Hence, this is a unique opportunity to help build up our Business Intelligence department, data warehouse, etc and eventually introduce revolutionary predictive analyses to our customers, e.g. forecasting optimal price levels and target groups for specific properties and regions. Your role will involve the following:


  • Conception and implementation of BI data strategy and architecture

  • Definition and set-up of ETL processes and data warehouse in order to integrate different sources of data

  • Definition and analysis of KPIs used by large external clients, Project Management, Performance Marketing and other key business stakeholders

  • Development of state-of-the-art data models and intelligent data structures to support high performing BI applications

  • Set-up of standardised reportings, analyses and scenarios, using SQL queries and reporting tools

  • Taking ownership of the development of the BI systems landscape

Dein Profil

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, economics, or similar degree

  • 4+ years experience of working in BI/Data in a digital, data-driven environment

  • Proficient in writing SQL queries

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing and ETL processes

  • Experience in working with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) is a plus

  • Very good English skills, German skills will be an additional asset

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills and willingness to discuss BI data with business stakeholders

  • Performing data analysis that drive both management decisions and client success

  • Collecting business requirements from multiple departments and set-up of standardised reportings using SQL queries and reporting tools

  • Defining KPIs used by large real estate developers (our client), internal Project Management, Performance Marketing, Product and other key business stakeholders

  • Creation of intuitive visualizations using Tableau to derive compelling data-based stories

  • Working cross-functionally to ensure all projects are delivered on-time and within scope

  • Supporting and training the operational departments in using BI and employing data-driven decision-making

Dein Profil

  • University degree in computer science, engineering, economics, or similar degree

  • 3+ years of experience of working in BI/Data in a digital, data-driven environment

  • Proficient in writing SQL queries

  • Experience in working with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau)

  • Interest and knowledge in assessing data quality and extracting meaning and strategic insights from data

  • Familiarity with basic business processes/workflows and analyzing customer data

  • Strong numerical and analytical aptitude

  • Very good English skills, German skills would be an additional asset

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills and willingness to discuss BI data with business stakeholders

Deine Aufgaben

  • Designing and implementing business strategies, plans, and procedures to scale the company and taking key company decisions with the management

  • Leading the process design and improvement initiatives with quality and efficiency as guiding principles

  • Designing and implementing efficient standard operating procedures, ERP-related tools and adequate workflow documentation routines that allow fast up-scaling

  • Introducing, refining and reviewing operational KPI's and managing the business accordingly

  • Managing capacity through smart workflows/process reorganisation

  • Reviewing operational performance, diagnose inefficiencies and implementing corrective action plans

  • Spreading the process efficiency/logic culture across our operational teams and encouraging the teams to take pride in reliably delivering results while keeping processes working efficiently

  • Creating a culture of ownership where people are motivated and love to work

Dein Profil

  • Many years of relevant work experience in a high growth digital or IT sector

  • Prior experience in building larger teams and structure processes within the department

  • Experience in leading people and provide clear direction to both empower and motivate the team

  • Fast decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • High motivation for designing and hands-on mentality as part of a growing proptech start-up

  • Strong affinity to a digital product
